1. Auxiliary software

Depending on the selected numerical solver, some of the following prerequisites need to be fulfilled before installing DAMASK.

  • Compiler
    The core of DAMASK is written in Fortran 2008 and needs to be compiled before usage.

  • Python and related modules
    Most pre and post processing scripts are written in Python. A large number of those scripts depend on additional modules such as NumPy or vtk.

  • ParaView
    As a viewer for vtk files, ParaView is recommended (spectral solver only).
